PATTERN DETAILS

This knitting pattern is for an advanced beginner to intermediate knitter. The sweater features a pretty garter wave lower hem and also a garter wave neckline in the front. The sweater is knit in two pieces and then seamed together. Skills needed to knit this sweater are basic knowledge of knitting and knitting terms and knowledge of how to seam a sweater together. Supplies needed are 100 percent cotton yarn, approximately 750 yards and size US 8 circular knitting needles. You will also need a darning needle to sew the sweater together and to weave in ends. The stitches used in the pattern are knit, purl, knit 2 together, slip slip knit and yarn over. The pattern for the lower part of the sweater is a 6 row repeat and the body of the sweater is knit in garter stitch, or knit. This sweater pattern is sized for a small to medium size person or a US size 6 to 10 women's. The tunic measures approximately 25 inches long in length from shoulder to hem, 38 inches around the bust and 40 inches around the hip. The cotton yarn does provide a good bit of stretch to as you wear it the size may have a little more give to it. The yarn used in my pattern was Hobby Lobby I Love this Cotton and it washes well.
