PATTERN DETAILS

This light, airy rectangular stole looks like it has been tie dyed. Colors ripple through the fabric like the edge of a grassy meadow or sunset over the ocean. You'll love the drape of the finished fabric. Work in two highly contrasting solid colors for a bold look, or two closer shades for a more subtle effect. This stole is knit loosely and then blocked to achieve its open look. It is worked in garter stitch short rows, with both colors carried along the sides, so there are no ends to weave in at the color changes. Worried about short rows? Don't be. The pattern includes a simple explanation. For a more blocky, pooled version, see its companion, The Shibori Interlude Stole. I've crocheted just about my whole life. I taught myself to knit in the early 2000s and haven't slowed down since. I've also gone through counted cross-stitch and needlepoint periods. I almost always modify knitting patterns I like, so in 2011 I started designing and publishing my own patterns. All of the patterns that I sell have been tech edited and test knit before release.
