Set sail on adventure whether it be on land or on the water with this nautical inspired tunic top knitting pattern. This knitting pattern offeres a twist on the traditional nautical themed wardrobe by inverting the stripes and adding an interesting hemline and increase that is reminicent to the jib on a sail boat. This pattern offers interesting design elements and construction techniques. Great for an intermediate knitter looking to expand their skills or an advanced knitter looking for an easy top to knit up for the summer. Since this top is designed using a cotton blend yarn it is also a great pattern for anyone who is allergic to wool or lives in a warmer climate. This item is knit with about 1" of negative ease in the bust. The model has a 36" bust measurement and is wearing size 35". Pick a size that is close to your bust measurement, but about 1" to 2" smaller. If you want to size this pattern to your measurements pick the size that is the closest and either add or subtract two rows of increases. Measurements To get the desired fit you will need to take not only your bust measurement, but a shoulder to waist measurement. This measures the length from the top of your shoulder over your bust line to your waist. To take this measurement place tape measure on top of your shoulder (this is where the seam of most tops are) and measure the distance from the top of your shoulder over your bust to your natural waist. You will need this measurement later in the project and it does not affect the original bust measurement. Note on Yardage Depending on the above measurement you may need an extra ball or two of yarn than what is listed. For example my shoulder to waist measurement is 17 inches and I can make a size 35" with the suggested amount of yarn, but if your bust measurement is 36, but your shoulder to waist measurement is 19" you will need another ball of white and a second ball of red to make the size 35".
