PATTERN DETAILS

Great style for boys or girls. Includes a good sized blanket of about 32 by 38 inches. A nice easy graph pullover sweater with cute little sail boats! And a hat to match. Wonderfully make with sport weight yarn, called "baby sport", and a 29 inch circular needle size 8 for blanket. For sweater and hat, use US # 5 and 6 needles. This is pretty easy to accomplish, so try one in pink tones for girls too! (sizes from 3 to 6 -7 months). GAUGE 11 stitches = 2 inches SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Fits from 3 months (first set of numbers), 6 to 7 months (second set of numbers). SUGGESTED YARN 1178 yards of Fingering weight PREFERRED BRAND/YARN Bernat Baby Yarn and Bernat Big Ball COLORWAY Knitter's Choice

Recommended with this pattern

  • Uses 1 ball, 300 gram or 10.5 ounces Bernat Baby Sport Yarn in blue. (Big Ball Bernat, 1,178 yards). There will be enough yarn left for trim on sweater and hat. Also Bernat Baby Yarn, about 5 ounces white. This is for sweater and hat. We also used about 25 yards of turquoise color for boat trim on sweater. Knitting needles: Use a 29 inch circular size 8 for blanket. For sweater and hat, use US # 5 and # 6. You will also need a yarn sewing needle, and a size G or H crochet hook for hat topper (Topper is optional).

Frugal Knitting Haus
Frugal Knitting Haus
The Frugal Knitting Haus was founded in July of 1989. It began around the innovative patterns of our founder, designing quick and simple patterns using up leftover scraps of yarn. Since her start, hundreds of knitting patterns have been designed and are available through the eight different books that are published by the Frugal Knitting Haus. The patterns are all different, but the design concept through the years hasn't changed. The name "frugal" is right on target, given our patterns that use the leftover scraps of yarn, bits and pieces of a skein or less that would otherwise not find a purpose. Whether it is a holiday decoration, a baby blanket or adult afghan, sweaters, bazaar items, toys, hats, slippers, gifts, or just plain useful items for use around the house, you will find it all here. We've put a large number of patterns on our site, to get you started with the "frugal" knitting concept that will surely clean those odds and ends of yarn out of the bottom of your knitting basket.
