PATTERN DETAILS

The slip-stitch color-work pattern in these mitts has the beneficial side effect of creating a thick, warm fabric. A slipped rib in the main color borders the houndstooth pattern, which is made by knitting two-round stripes of each color, slipping some stitches from the previous row. This is color-work at its simplest, and the mitts are a small enough project to make a stack of them for gifts, playing with different color combinations and keeping your favorites for yourself. Kira K Designs
Kira K Designs is a line of original knitting and crochet patterns with a streamlined and eminently wearable aesthetic. Research on historical clothing, which Kira did during her former career as a theatrical costume designer, is a strong influence on her design sense, and many patterns reference styles from the 1920s through the 1960s. Kira's family history of Danish Modern furniture design is also an important influence on her patterns, resulting in garments and accessories with clean lines and intriguing details that are both interesting to make and easy to wear.
