Sauterelle, or grasshopper, is a simple triangular shawl worked from the top down in 2 original stitch patterns. The shawl pattern takes its name after the color of the yarn I used for the sample, grasshopper, which reminds me of the feeling of endless summer I had as a child. The shawl has its portions separated by a simple braid technique, easily worked and learned. A moderate ruffle finishes the 'little house in the prairie' look of the shawl. This shawl is designed to make the most of a single 100gr skein of fingering weight yarn, but can be easily adapted to any size by increasing or decreasing the number of repeats of the body of the shawl.
