Salish Sea is a curved semi-circular shawl with a stockinette body and Old Shale border. The shawl is worked from the top down and finished with a crochet chain bind-off. All the increases for the lace section are made on the first row of the lace pattern; thereafter the curve is shaped by progressively increasing needle size. Although the sample shawl was knitted in laceweight, it would be equally effective in fingering or a lofty DK weight yarn. In that case, you will need more yardage than is listed here. This pattern has been test-knitted.
