How it works

  • This pattern was designed by a Craftsy independent design partner!
  • You'll purchase through PayPal and all profits go to the designer.
  • After purchase find your pattern in your pattern library.

This semi-circular shaped garment curves snugly around your neck, and can be worn as a shawl or wrapped around as a cowl. It is worked from end to end with the ruffle knitted as you go, making it completely adjustable in terms of size. It uses the German short row technique to create the ruffled edge, which I believe is the easiest short row method. and is fully described in the pattern, but you can use whichever is your favourite. Details are included on how to adjust the pattern to make a shorter, fatter shawl or any other changes you may like to make. Work in stripes as shown or a single colour or why not try a self-striping yarn? Let your imagination run wild! This shawl uses 1 skein of Fyberspates Pure Silk DK and 3 balls of Sirdar Snuggle Baby Bamboo DK Please add any photo's of your finished shawls - I would love to see them. :))) BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY knit purl use multiple colours short row(explained in full in pattern) GAUGE 22 sts x 34 rows to 10cm (4in) in garter stitch SUGGESTED YARN 550 yards of DK weight PREFERRED BRAND/YARN Fyberspates/Sirdar COLORWAY Warm Metals/Cream

I - like most of you on here I guess - am obsessed with knitting and crocheting, and have been since I was about 5 years old. My dear mum taught me well and I have never lost the bug. I have designed and sold items at craft fairs for a few years, and am now adding some designs online. Enjoy !!! NOTE - I also work as a pattern checker/proofreader for some major craft book publishing companies. I am happy to check any of your written knitting or crochet pattern for mistakes, and advise on style, before you publish. Please contact me for details.
