Martin's Song Of Ice And Fire Part of the "Game of Thrones" Sock Series By NinDesigns "Winter is coming and Westros is growing colder. What would a child of the warm and sunny Highgarden wear as socks to keep her warm? Something pretty, of course! Margaery Tyrell is beautiful, kind, and like many characters in the 'Song Of Ice And Fire' books, has a thirst for power. She wants to be the Queen. She is sweet and knows how to work Kings, Courtiers, and common people alike. And like the rose, she is not without her hidden thorns. Margaery knows her duty, and this is represented by the undulating lines surrounding the rose pattern in 'Roses For Margaery.' She is supposedly restrained by her lot in life, but is she really? The beautiful rose tree, if left unchecked, can overtake a garden. Notice how the rose pattern in 'Roses For Margaery' moves from the leg and makes it's way down into the common heel flap, changing its look and giving its function airs of beauty. 'Growing Strong' are the words of House Tyrell. Their sigil is a golden rose growing on a field of green. Next to the Lanasters, House Tyrell is one of the richest and most powerful families in all of Westeros." I'm a knitwear designer living in the beautiful East Coast province of New Brunswick, Canada. I started knitting as a small child and the thrill of creating with sticks and string still has the power to make me forget laundry and such chores. When not in my studio, you can find me petting skeins at my local yarn shop.
