As a lot of knitwear designers seem to do these days, I got my inspiration for this hat from nature. From a Romanesco broccoli, to be more precise. Its shape is so very plastic and geometric that it made me think of a hat at once. I sketched and swatched and very soon came up with a freshly knit hat. And these intense shades of green and blue really make the checked pattern shine. Knitting for me is all about experimenting, trying new things, re-discovering old stuff and mixing everything together. I also like a challenge when I knit. I enjoy immensely to have an idea and to think: Yes, this would be nice but it is impossible to do. - Then I find a way to do it. It is just wonderful that I can write down my ideas at home, upload them here on Craftsy and instantly share them with other knitters all around the world. I so love the internet!
