Remy is cetainly no ordinary reversible scarf. Heck, it's not even an ordinary reversible cable it has a dual cable motif, so that it looks different on each side! The magic of Remy is that the cabling is only worked on one side, but somehow a different pattern magically appears on the reverse. This project is easy enough for a less experienced knitter, but still interesting for one more experienced. This design originally appeared in the Fall 2009 issue of Knitscene magazine. (Red sample shown worked without seed stitches (see "Notes" on page 2) using Berroco Ultra Alpaca (50% wool, 50% alpaca, 215 yds/ 197 m, 3.5 oz/ 100 g); color: chianti #6236, 3 skeins.) BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY knit purl cables GAUGE 30 sts and 16 rows = 4"/10 cm in [k1, p1] rib, blocked 58 sts and 32 rows = 8"/ 20.5cm wide and 5"/ 12.5cm tall in pattern stitch worked twice, blocked. Hello, I'm Anne Kuo Lukito. I'm a hand-knitting designer and my works have been published in many books and top magazines, such as Knitty, Interweave Knits, Knitscene and Twist Collective,. I've also contributed designs to and worked with several yarn companies. Recently, I designed the Fall Collection for Manos del Uruguay yarns. While knitting is my dominant craft now, I've always been a crafter and sewer. I used to make my own clothes in high school and made jewelry. Two years ago, I got a bit into silversmithing as well.
