The Rainy Day Cowl is soft and light, but incredibly warm - perfect for the cool days of fall when the weather changes and the rains begin. Knit with a provisional cast-on and kitchener bind-off, it is completely seamless. Simple color blocking allows for multiple looks by just rotating the fabric. Medium and Large size can be pulled up over the ears for added warmth. You'll need 200-400 yards of yarn depending on the size cowl you want (3 sizes included in pattern). Mohair combined with another sport or DK weight works well. Knit Picks Reverie (Alpaca and Acrylic blend) is also nice for this project. If you prefer denser yarns, select a yarn in worsted weight. My name is Nona and I've been an avid knitter and paper crafter for over a decade. In July of 2015, I opened a yarn shop in Edmonds, WA with my mom. It's called All Wound Up, and we hope that you will visit if you are ever in the area. I'm married to my best friend, Dave, and we have 3 active, intelligent, and precocious kids! I began designing patterns in 2009 in an effort to raise money for our second daughter's adoption. Now all of the proceeds of my shop, Nona Pearl Creations, is helping pay for our kids' education, as well as sports and other lessons and activities. Kids are expensive! Thank you for helping support our family with every purchase you make!
