The Purl Twist Knot stitch has been around a long time. I know this because I used it to make a special sweater for a much loved and respected high school Biology teacher back in 1963 and my grandmother passed this stitch down to me from Who Knows When. It's an easy stitch that makes a beautiful textured fabric. My design is easy too! You can knit up a slouchy hat like I did or knit it a bit shorter and make a closer fit beanie. If you can cast on, knit, purl, bind off and knit in the round, you should find this an easy and quick knit. As with all my designs, please feel free to contact me at the Email address listed in the pattern if you have any questions as you work up the design. It's important to me that you're thrilled with your purchase, have fun knitting up my design and end up with a hat you will be proud of. And as always, thank you for considering my design and a special thanks and a lot of affection goes to my many Followers/Admirers. You all have a special place in my heart. Follow my blog at: I am certified as a Level 1 Master Hand Knitter by The Knitting Guild Association. My grandmother Lena taught me to knit when I was 4 years old and told me that a lifetime of knitting pleasure was her legacy to me. I love to design and knit and enter my work in competitions. I've won numerous awards and ribbons over the years and that's a lot of fun, but the greatest pleasure is the actual creative process. I specialize in Beginner and Intermediate level designs that teach new skills and promote excitement for the art that is Knitting. I think new knitters should have the opportunity to work with a well-written design that reinforces their current skills, teaches them new skills and gets a "WOW, you made that?!!?" response when showing off their completed project.
