The stylish Polka Spot Scarf is quick and easy-to-knit in a variety of yarn weights. It's wide asymmetrical triangle shape takes full advantage of the squishy garter stitch and maintains a nice drape of the finished fabric. While there is plenty going on in this pattern to keep experienced knitter's interested, it provides beginners an excellent opportunity to practice increasing, decreasing, yarn over's, and a sewn bind off. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Knit, increase, decrease, yarn over GAUGE Fingering weight gauge - 16 sts in 4" of body pattern. Worsted weight gauge - 10 sts in 4" of body pattern. Gauge isn't too important for this project. You will want to use a needle size that is 3 to 4 sizes larger than what is suggested for the yarn you are using. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Fingering weight scarf - 74" length by 13" depth. Worsted weight scarf - 78" length by 12" depth.
