Knitting jewellery is a wonderful way to express your love for knitting. And whats more, these small and delicate projects make for fabulous presents. It really is not difficult at all to knit with wire. Especially if you are using the inexpensive, often coated copper craft wire. It is available in many colours and is very soft and easy to work with. If you decide to work with .925 silver, you will be rewarded with a luxurious piece of jewellery. Thin silver wire is great to work with too. Make sure to purchase soft wire, as silver wire comes in varying degrees of hardness. If you do not mind putting in some effort, you can use wire with a diameter of 0.4 mm (26 ga). You will need to help every single stitch onto the needle with a crochet hook, but your jewellery will look very professional and last forever! The earrings shown in the images are worked with 26, 28 and 32 gauge respectively, seen from left to right. The wider bracelet in the pictures features 32-gauge silver wire, while the slimmer bracelet is worked with the thicker 26-gauge silver wire. Have fun experimenting with the new material and wear those badges for the love of knitting with pride! BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY backwards loop cast-on decrease: slip one, knit one, pass slipped stitch over SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Due to the plasticity of knitted wire and the ability to work additional platelets, the bracelet length can be adapted to almost every wrist circumference. length of bracelets shown: 13.5 - 15.5 cm (5.25 " 6 in) 5 platelets for each bracelet and 1 placelet for each earring each platelet is 2.7 " 3.1 cm (1 " 1.25 in) long

Knitting for me is all about experimenting, trying new things, re-discovering old stuff and mixing everything together. I also like a challenge when I knit. I enjoy immensely to have an idea and to think: Yes, this would be nice but it is impossible to do. - Then I find a way to do it. It is just wonderful that I can write down my ideas at home, upload them here on Craftsy and instantly share them with other knitters all around the world. I so love the internet!
