PATTERN DETAILS

I love knitting cables, they keep me from getting bored when just knitting stockinette stitches. What I love about this cable pattern is that it looks just as good on the right side as it does on the wrong side. The yarn I used is my 'go to yarn' when knitting scarves or shawlettes (Check out my Summer Leaves pattern) It is so luxurious and soft and I love the numerous colorways. The yarn is hand-dyed so there is a slight variegated look to the yarn! GAUGE 20 stitches = 4 inches in stockinette (blocked) 40 stitches = 5 inches in pattern (blocked) SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 70" x 8" (178cm X 25cm) after blocking SUGGESTED YARN 375 yards of Fingering weight PREFERRED BRAND/YARN Neighborhood Fiber Company Luxury Sock Yarn (80%wool/10%Cashmere/10%nylon) COLORWAY Victoria Village

After my mother died we moved to South America to live with my maternal Grandmother. She believed that idle hands were the devils work so she taught my sisters and me to knit, crochet, and needlepoint. We were constantly making handle cozies for her old refrigerator. It was the kind where you pulled the handle down to open it. After college while I was stationed at Ft. Hood and my boyfriend was stationed in Germany I made him a lap blanket, thankfully not a sweater! We've been married 20 years now. Through the ensuing years I've picked up quilting, scrap booking and beading with knitting and quilting being my two favorite passions. I started designing last year after taking Stefanie Japel's design your own shawl online class. I loved the challenge of creating something with yarn and then putting it down on paper for others to knit and enjoy. I hope you enjoy knitting my designs.
