Parvati is the Hindu Goddess of weddings - perfect as I designed this for my brother-in-law's wedding, and wore it to a second wedding a couple of months later - if you tie the ends together it'll even stay on while Ceilidh dancing! Parvati will add a dash of elegance and glamour to any outfit, while the garter stitch body keeps you warm on the chilliest evening. This triangular shawl has a warm a squishy garter stitch body knitted from the bottom up. Stitches are picked up from the side of the shawl and the lace border is then knit from the top down. The silver shawl is knit in Eden Cottage Yarns Titus 4ply, and uses 510 yards of yarn. Details on how to increase the size of the shawl are included in the pattern. The pattern includes both charts and written instructions for the lace edging, so however you like to read your patterns, you're covered! The pattern has been tech edited and test knitted. I’ve always loved creating things – the list of crafts I’ve tried and enjoy is pretty long and varied. Learning to knit has been a fantastic experience for me – it has all the advantages of my other crafts without the drawbacks. It’s relaxing, portable, practical & useful, decorative and offers boundless possibilities for creativity! There’s something magical in taking two sticks and some string and turning it into a shawl or a cuddly toy, or a hat or jumper. The possibilities are endless and that makes it really exciting.
