This dress has a funny story attached to it. After working on a doomed knitting project I decided to do something easy that I couldn't make a hash of and so commenced to knit up a fair-isle design that I had previously graphed. No shaping, it was going to be a bolster and it would be a breeze - pure knitting enjoyment - except that I started knitting the graph upside down and didn't discover it until I was well into the project. I decided to keep going and see what it turned into...and here it is! The dress is begun with a provisional cast-on, worked in the round to the armholes, then worked flat to the shoulders. The bodice fleck stitches are worked in duplicate stitch. A single crochet edging is worked around the bodice top and armholes. This pattern includes charts for both the dress and hat as well as instructions on a great one-hole buttonhole.
