Suggested yarn Rowan 'Big' 100% Merino Wool Roving - 1 ball = approx 80m/87yds (100g). You could use any super chunky weight yarn. When substituting yarn always do a tension swatch before beginning your work. Yarn weight: Super Chunky (US Super Bulky) weight / 5-6wpi Amount of yarn You will need (approx): Size 1= 80m / 87yds = 1 X 100g balls of Rowan 'Big wool' Size 2 = 160m / 174yds = 2 X 100g balls of Rowan 'Big wool' Shade = Linen BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY This is an easy pattern which requires you to work basic stitches, including a classic cable and has very simple shaping and finishing. I've been involved in knitting for many years, having graduated with a first class degree in knitted textiles from the Scottish College of Textiles. My early career saw me working as a knitwear designer, firstly in London for well-known cashmere brands Tse Cashmere and Ballantyne Cashmere - and then moving to New York and working as senior designer and design director for high profile labels - J. Crew, The limited and Ann Taylor. When I returned to Scotland in 2004 I launched my own knitwear label 'Jo Storie Hand Knits' and in 2011 launched the first set of patterns from my knit wear collections. These patterns are for garments and accessories that I've designed with a Modern Heritage feel using traditional stitches updated in contemporary silhouettes.
