When I first saw a skein of this beautiful shining golden Shibui yarn, I had a vague idea of a small Art Nouveau inspired knitwear series. And so I designed the Muk [pronounced mook] accessory set while pondering what the women in the pictures by a Czech painter of the epoch, Alphonse Mucha, would wear in winter. Surely something whimsical with playful and delicate, yet clear-cut lines as featured in this small Muk collection. The three items in the set - a scarf, a hat and cuffs - are rather straightforward projects. Even so, each piece uses a not all too common technique: The scarf features an I-cord selvedge, the hat uses a purled centred decrease, and the cuffs start with a provisional cast-on on waste yarn. Guided by the tutorials in the Appendix, you may learn something new while working on fun and relaxing knits. Knitting for me is all about experimenting, trying new things, re-discovering old stuff and mixing everything together. I also like a challenge when I knit. I enjoy immensely to have an idea and to think: Yes, this would be nice but it is impossible to do. - Then I find a way to do it. It is just wonderful that I can write down my ideas at home, upload them here on Craftsy and instantly share them with other knitters all around the world. I so love the internet!
