PATTERN DETAILS

Two, easy lace stitch patterns flow gently together in this light & airy scarf. Knit in her favorite color, or to match her eyes - this scarf will be perfect for any occasion. Wrapped, looped, ascot tied or secured with a pin - she can wear it anyway she wants! As the lace patterns are directional, "Mother's Love Scarf" is knit in two pieces, from ends to center and grafted together. (The pattern includes links for grafting tutorials.) Seaming or 3-needle bind off could be used in place of grafting if desired. The lace border pattern also gives softly scalloped ends.. This scarf makes a good first lace project, while being interesting enough for more advanced knitters. It knits up fairly quickly and takes only 320 yds of yarn. I designed this scarf as a tribute to my mother, and knit the sample in a blue that would have matched her eyes. Mom was very instrumental in teaching me to knit, among other types of needlework. She would have loved how the lace patterns flow together. "Mother's Love Scarf" makes a lovely gift for any mom - or any occasion. I've been a 'crafter' all my life, and especially enjoy fiber arts. My first professional design was published in 2005, and since then I've had my designs published in knit.wear, Knitscene, Creative Knitting, Love of Knitting, Knitcircus, Twist Collective, Three Irish Girls Yarns, Universal Yarns, and Cascade Yarns, along with several books by DRG Publications. When not knitting, thinking about knitting or dreaming up new designs, I love spending time with my husband and pets, in the high plains of Colorado where we live.
