Pattern Details

The Mirage Scarf is worked flat with fingering weight yarn and larger needles, which creates a drapey, lightweight overall effect. It features an all- over zig-zag mesh pattern. Both ends of the scarf are semi-circular. The scarf is worked flat beginning with a small number of cast-on stitches, which are increased (while working in the mesh pattern) two stitches at a time until the scarf measures approximately 8" wide. The scarf is then worked straight in the mesh pattern until it is time to decrease to form the other rounded end of the scarf. After working seven years as a special education teacher, I put teaching aside to stay home with my two young children. Over the last two years I have branched into designing knitwear, and am published in both print and online publications. I love spending my days with my husband and kids. In my very rare spare time, I try to squeeze in any quantity of knitting. I also enjoy gardening, baking, reading and sewing in addition to watching way too much Masterpiece Mystery and old movies.
