Part cowl, part hood, this quick-knit Moebius in a linen-blend yarn is perfect for cool spring days and summer nights -- or any time, if wool just isn't for you. The length and width can easily be adjusted by casting on fewer stitches to make a snood, more stitches to make a long wrap, or working the main chart again to make a deeper hood. The project is worked in a variation of scroll lace, substituting p2tog and p2tog-tbl for the traditional k2tog and ssk. Purling the decreases gives the "scrolls" more definition on both the "inside" and "outside" halves of the Moebius, producing a distinct and lovely entrelac-like effect on each. The stitch pattern is easy to memorize -- great for the experienced knitter with a craving for a portable lace project. Also, even though this is "true lace" (pattern stitches on every row, with no "resting" row in between) this project is also well within reach for beginning lace knitters, as the placement of the decreases and yarnovers makes it simple to fix mistakes on the following round.
