PATTERN DETAILS

Face the upcoming winter days with a touch of elegance and warmth. Melange(tm)s beautiful wing-like shape drapes naturally around the neck with no bulkiness, only the perfect amount of fabric to fend off the cold. The shawl is worked top down, from the centre out. Increases and short rows form the dramatic wings. Using just two skeins of Zitron Filisilk, you(tm)ll have enough yarn left over to knit the Mocca cowl, Melange(tm)s whimsical counterpart. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY You should know or will learn (tutorials included in the pattern): provisional cast-on on waste yarn knit into front and back of stitch (increasing one) short rows, wrap and turn method jenys surprisingly stretchy bind-off GAUGE 19 stitches and 27.5 ridges (55 rows) = 10 cm (4 in) with US#6/4 mm needle, in garter st (= knit all rows) SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS length: 218 cm (86 in) width at centre: 29 cm (11.5 in) maximal width: 35.5 (14 in) SUGGESTED YARN 565 yards of Lace weight PREFERRED BRAND/YARN Zitron Filisilk COLORWAY 3008 (coffee) + 3031 (dark anthracite)
