I created this blanket for my first grand daughter who is due in January 2013, my daughter requested a bright fun blanket as all of the nursery furniture is white. Sometimes you want something a little less subdued for the nursery, something to show that there is a great big world of colour out there, and that life is exciting when it is lived out loud! Parents and babies alike will be thrilled with this rainbow ripple blanket, either cot sized or the useful bassinet/stroller/car seat size. Use your imagination and any combination of colours that takes your fancy, use 7 yarns or 37! Great for using up the oddments you have collected over the years and the perfect excuse to start saving them up. I love designing knitwear for babies and older kids too, I'm inspired by the world around me, whether it's the green bush covered hills where I live, or the bright city lights and sparkling harbor. I try to find a way to incorporate traditional, modern and whimsical elements into every garment I design. Children need to be comfortable and relaxed in their clothing, they need the opportunity to jump and run and paint without restriction. I try to design with these qualities in mind.
