Knitting is an essential part of my daily routine and when I sew, I totally lose track of time. I enjoy the creative process as much as the finished product. My style might be described as vintage but I refer to it as classic. My knitting pattern designs include household items such as the Dress Style Dishcloths, baby blankets and hats, and doll clothes for various sized dolls I began working with yarn and fabric as a young child. I watched and learned the basics from my mother and aunts as they created clothing and household items by knitting, crocheting, and sewing. My first projects were potholders made on a weaving loom with circular loops, a loom that I still use after 50 plus years. I progressed to a knitting knob and made miles of i-cord, sewing it into mats and accessories for my dolls. Shortly after I began sewing aprons and continued on to sewing clothing for myself and my family members. For several years, I served as the costume designer for local high school musical productions including the King & I. Whenever the opportunity arises, I teach both children and adults to knit and/or sew. Developing Knit n Sew Studio has allowed me to share my passion for all things hand stitched.
