I am a partner in a yarn store and we were struggling to find a source for ceramic yarn bowls. I love designing felted items -- mostly bags -- and it occurred to me that yarn bowls ought to be made of out yarn! They have the added benefits of being portable and not breakable. I designed the original bowl on the way home from Colorado. It was really fun to make. The Large Bowl Pattern has several variations (that can also be applied to the Small Bowls if you have that pattern). The bowls will accommodate almost any skein -- even bulky yarns. They are great for knitters who like to work on larger projects -- like garments. The bowls are so much fun to make. Once you have it down you can make the bowls in 5 to 8 hours. They are great weekend projects and make wonderful gifts. I do include good instructions on felting. GAUGE 3.25 sts and 4.25 rows to 1" on stockinette stitch, circular gauge
