Pattern Details

* THIS SALE IS NOT FOR A PRINTED PATTERN. It is a digital download in the form of PDF files. Knitting patterns that are mini tutorials in themselves. Not only will your file contain all the knitting instructions you need to make the illustrated garments, but I've added helpful photographs. There are 2 dress patterns, one for the 17” doll and one for both the 18” sizes. There's also a cute eyelet beret. Tailor-made to fit Kaye Wiggs resin dolls. This pattern fits both 43cm Mei Mei body, the taller 45cm MSD body, and the new 18” Abby body. The hat is stretchy enough to fit Layla-sized heads and Gracie-sized larger heads too. The directions are a little more detailed than most knitting patterns, so should be suitable for beginners and experts alike. Basic garments like these are great for design. Once you're familiar with the pieces, you can alter the design a little, add embellishments, try different stitches, etc. Garments: High-waist dress Beret Yarn (and notes about the cover garments) For the 18” doll purple/rainbow dress, I've used Scheepjes Catona cotton for the main colour (skirt) and Sirdar Snuggly Crofter Baby 4ply in contrast colour. Cotton yarn seems to knit up slightly longer than 'woolly' yarn, which is springier. For the 18” doll teal/rainbow dress, I've used an unbranded acrylic 4 ply oddment for the main colour (skirt) and King Cole zigzag 4 ply for the contrast colour. For the 17” doll peacock greens dress, I've used Drops Delight 4 ply for the main colour (skirt) and Phildar Phil Light for the contrast colour. Phil Light is actually a 3 ply yarn, but it's so fluffy, it knits up well for this dress on the 3mm needles. I've brushed the yarn too, to bring up the fluffy pile. Amounts: 1 50g ball of yarn in main colour, and one in contrast colour is more than enough for both dress and coat. You can use up oddments of yarn too. Needles: US size 1 UK size 13 (Metric 2.25mm) US size 2 UK size 12 (Metric 2.75mm) (used for dress waist only, to make the waist firm) US size (no equivalent size). UK size 11 (Metric 3mm) (There is no equivalent US size for 3mm needles, but they can be purchased very cheaply from Europe or China on Ebay or Etsy. I provide a search link in the pattern) Yarn and needle conversion charts are included, as is a list of standard knitting abbreviations. You can either print out your project, or use it directly from your tablet or computer screen. Contents: PDF file, with full instructions, hints, and photographs. Please be aware that these two files are exactly the same in content, just in different sizes of paper for printing out. Choose the paper size relevant to your country. One in US Letter size (USL) One in A4 size. * CHECK OUT MY BLOG FOR REGULAR UPDATES AND PICTURES OF MY DOLL PROJECTS: http://raccoonsrags.blogspot.co.uk/ (Cut and paste the link into your browser.) DUE TO HEALTH ISSUES, I DO NOT MAKE DOLL GARMENTS TO ORDER. You are welcome to use my patterns to make your own doll clothes to sell. HOWEVER - please respect my copyright, and give credit to Raccoon’s Rags on your sale page. For example it’s okay to write “Handmade by myself, using a Raccoon’s Rags pattern” or even “adapted from a Raccoon’s Rags pattern” But not “My own design”. I always credit other artisans/designers when I use their patterns or adapt them. They did all the hard work and deserve the recognition. Many thanks and happy knitting.. *
