The Kitsune Cowl is named for the foxes of Japanese folklore. These foxes grow more tails as they get older and wiser, with an apparent maximum of nine tails. The cowl is knit top down, starting with a solid garter stitch border, which breaks into nine bias garter stitch stripes, in three colors, each of which ends in a lacy fox tail. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY k2tog, ssk, centered decrease knit in the round pick up and knit from slipped stitch edge GAUGE 30sts x 60 rows = 4x4" in garter stitch 30sts x 40 rows = 4x4" in stockinette stitch SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 18" around x 8" tall, plus 5" tails SUGGESTED YARN 600 yards of Fingering weight PREFERRED BRAND/YARN Knit Picks Stroll Tonal and Stroll
