This is a very simple lace pattern using big needles so it's an incredibly quick, but impressive, knit. Perfect gift material! The yarn used is my handspun baby camel and silk. It's a lovely choice if you're a handspinner, baby camel down is much cheaper than cashmere but feels just as soft. I've recommended a commercially available yarn, Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk Aran as a perfectly suitable substitute though. This is suitable for a beginner knitter looking for a challenge. You will need to be able to work in the round on a circular needle and use the lace stitches ssk and yo ("slip slip knit" and "yarn over"). BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY knit and purl knit in the round ssk yo k2tog GAUGE 15 stitches and 20 rows = 4" in stocking stitch. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 9" x 54"
