PATTERN DETAILS

Kayla is growing up, and she still needs a basic white sweater! This one has pretty lace on the front and sleeves, and (optional) beaded ribbing to give it a little something extra. Kayla's Big Sister is an updated version of my original Kayla sweater. I have adapted it to be worked top down and entirely seamless using the Contiguous Set In Sleeve Method developed by Susie Meyer (SusieM on Ravelry). I am a self taught designer, having spent many hours researching and reading about the skills needed to learn clothing design. Having had much experience sewing, gave me a lot of knowledge about how clothing is constructed, which is an essential skill in being able to design. Experience knitting, gave me the tools I needed to master knitting techniques and be able to shape the fabric in the way I want. Learning is an ongoing pastime, there are always new techniques to master. I design clothing for children up to about 10 years and also adults. I have been published in Universal Yarns, Willow Yarns, One Skein Wonders for Babies, as well as various online magazines and self published designs.
