PATTERN DETAILS

I had some orange yarn lying around, and I wanted to get back into knitting, but not something common like a sweater or scarf...so I made my first knitted picture from a photo of my dog. I created this pattern based on my own natural knitting style, which is 3 stitches by 5 rows=square. It is a graph pattern, using 10x10 sets of different colored "V"s. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Knit Purl Weaving colors across the back (if you want a 2nd color) GAUGE 3 stitches by 5 rows = square SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Mine came out to 2 ft by 2 ft; you can make it any size you want 120 stitches wide

Recommended with this pattern

  • Knitting needles
  • For a lap blanket with ~4mm needles, about 16 oz 4ply yarn; otherwise, as much yarn as it takes to make it the size you want
  • A second color is an option

My name is Stefanie. My grandmother taught my mother, and then my mother taught me, the basics of knit and crochet. After going through college without really practicing, I decided to get back to this versatile craft. I chose to specialize in creating, then knitting and crocheting patterns from photos/drawings/writings/anything that I can see. Now, I want to specialize in MiCrochet--crocheted embroidery floss. I have gained a surprising amount of experience in the short time since I've begun; looking back at projects in even a 6-month span shows progress like from the Stone Age to the Bronze. I don't know what kind of potential is left, but hopefully by the end of my life, I will improve to the Digital Age!
