This design combines two of my favorite things--hearts and ornate iron scrollwork. As I am a knitter, not a smith, I have used my needles to forge yarn into a sweater. Interesting knitting begins right away with a two-color corrugated ribbing. Following a stockinette stitch body with a little waist shaping, the Norwegian-inspired hearts are wrought to life at the circular yoke with stranded colorwork. Features: - Worked from the bottom up - Seamless construction - Circular yoke - Waist shaping - Semi-fitted design with 2" of positive ease - US and metric measurements BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Knitting Purling Working in the round Increasing Decreasing Stranded colorwork (Fair Isle knitting) Working from a chart GAUGE 22 stitches and 28 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 36, 38, 40, 42"/91.5, 96.5, 101.5, 106.5cm SUGGESTED YARN 1210 yards of Worsted weight PREFERRED BRAND/YARN Knit Picks Wool of the Andes COLORWAY MC: Cobblestone Heather, CC: Coal

I'm a writer, reader, knitter, yoga instructor, and raw vegan living in the Texas Hill Country. I love designing items that are easier than they look, but I also enjoy the challenge and beauty of cables and stranded knitting. I personally knit every one of my designs, usually more than once, to make sure that my idea works. My years of experience as a technical writer help ensure that my pattern instructions are comprehensive and clear.
