This sweet hat combines two of my favorite thingshearts and ornate iron scrollwork. As I am a knitter, not a smith, I have used my needles to forge yarn into a hat. Interesting knitting begins right away with a two-color cabled cast-on and corrugated ribbing. Following a plain round of knitting, the Norwegian-inspired hearts are wrought to life with stranded colorwork. After a two-color purl turning round, you're on to the crown decreaseseither in the contrasting color or in the main color. I'm a writer, reader, knitter, yoga instructor, and raw vegan living in the Texas Hill Country. I love designing items that are easier than they look, but I also enjoy the challenge and beauty of cables and stranded knitting. I personally knit every one of my designs, usually more than once, to make sure that my idea works. My years of experience as a technical writer help ensure that my pattern instructions are comprehensive and clear.
