**Interstellar Voyage** This project was completed coincidentally on the day [Voyager 1][1] broke through to interstellar space. "The NASA spacecraft, which rose from the Earth on a September morning 36 years ago, has traveled farther than anyone, or anything, in history." My husband commented that the beads looked like stars in space and named it for the day's event. I just had to go with it!:) It's a moebius cowl, with beads placed in a specific pattern; consequently, the beads are on every surface of the cowl. The Moebius has a 180-degree twist, which is created at the join of the special cast on. Rounds of knitting grow from the center of the work to the outsides. Note: When knitting the moebius, it is recommended to use 47" circular needles for optimum comfort. Needles may be purchased at your local yarn shop. TOHO beads may be purchased from [Bobby Bead][2] in Minneapolis. The beads used in this project are 40 grams of color #505, Blue Higher Iris Metallic, size 6/0. Hi! I'm Diane L. Augustin and I am Yarn Happy - Bead Happy I teach knitting, crocheting and Tunisian crochet classes at several yarn shops and art centers in the Minneapolis/St. Paul/St. Croix Valley area. One of my passions is knitting and crocheting with beads. I also manage the daily activities and teach classes at ThunderWillow Community Arts in Hudson, WI. I have classes at Ramsay County and Hudson libraries, as well as through Hudson Community Education. I often conduct workshops and demonstrations at special events and festivals in the area. I have been teaching professionally for seven years. My background as a graphic artist in the publishing industry facilitates my ability to design, write, produce and publish my patterns. I am also the photographer. I continuously develop new designs, offering them as classes, with a focus on teaching techniques. I learned to knit continental or combination style at seven years old from my grandmother, who had to teach me in order to get her own knitting back from me! I live in western WI, just outside of Hudson, with my husband, Lance and the boss of the household, Thomas Edison, our stray kitty who came to stay. I am Yarn Happy Bead Happy! I hope my designs will become your favorites. I am Yarn Happy Bead Happy! My pattern was published in the newly released book, [North Shore Knits][2], produced by [Three Irish Girls][3]. The book is composed of patterns by local designers, inspired by the fantastic new color ways created by Three Irish Girls. My designs are also published in the [Knitting: 100+ Patterns Throughout the Year: 2013-2017 Day-to-Day Calendars][4] as well as [Crochet: 100+ Patterns Throughout the Year: 2013-2017 Day-to-Day Calendars][5].
