Pattern Details

What baby wouldn't scream for these Ice Cream cones? The blanket is designed in vertical columns. There are 3 columns of ice cream cones and 4 columns of textured 'donut' stitches. The ice cream cones are knit in a 'bee' stitch. Both the bee stitch and the donut stitch look classy, but are easy to do. Also included in the pattern, are the instructions to make a matching bib. Can't you see a first year birthday party with all the babies wearing a different colored cone bib- chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, mint? What a nice favor for them to take home. GAUGE 5 stitches / 7 rows in 1 inch, stockinette SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Blanket: 27"x31" Bib: 8"x7" PREFERRED BRAND/YARN Berocco Comfort

I’m a mid-western farm girl transplanted to the West Coast. I learned to knit in my 8th grade home-ec class. My first major project as a beginner was making a lacy knit stole for my Grandmother. After a long hot summer of knitting, it won first prize at the county 4-H fair and a second place at the Indiana State Fair. I’ve continued to knit off and on for over 40+ years. I prefer simpler projects like blankets and scarves because I’ve don’t like sewing pieces together. Semi-retirement has given me the time to explore new ways to be creative with my knitting. Hope you like what you see. Happy Knitting.
