PATTERN DETAILS

The Hill Top Jacket, named in honor of Beatrix Potter’s farm, is a “grown-up” version of Phoebe’s Sweater, the girl’s pattern from my children’s knitting book of the same name. After dozens and dozens of requests for a women’s version of this sweater, I am happy to offer the Hill Top Jacket for sale in nine sizes ranging from 29”-62”. The Hill Top Jacket is a seamless garment knit from the hem up in a bulky weight wool. The pattern instructions clearly guide you through a simple technique for customizing the fit of the garment to your exact body type and height. The smallest sizes pick up where Phoebe’s Sweater left off and are appropriate for a preteen or teenager. As a special feature of this pattern, the pdf includes hand drawn illustrated stationary by my husband, Eric, of an English Sheepdog overlooking a flock of sheep on a hillside. Of course the dog is wearing a handknit sweater! You may print as many of the illustrated cards as you like for your personal use. We decided to do this after many requests for stationary of Eric’s artwork, and hope you enjoy this addition to the knitting pattern’s features. GAUGE 3 1/2 stitches = 1 inch

I am a children's book writer. My husband Eric illustrates our storybooks, which we publish independently from our home-based studios at the foot of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. We have three children, who offer continual inspiration for our stories. I learned to knit and sew from my mother and grandmother as a girl, and love being able to include knitting and sewing patterns in our storybooks.
