PATTERN DETAILS

My Grandmother was born Donna Frances Hightower in 1918. She was a woman of many talents, much wisdom, and lots of love. These socks are named for her. The pattern reminds me of the many long walks we would take, up and around the small hill by her house, on a quiet country road surrounded by tall pines and farmland. I come from a family of knitters, weavers, and fiber artists, so it was only a matter of time for me to fall head first in to knitting. I learned how to knit at age 5, but really picked it up again durring collage. I have a BFA in painting, but spend most of my time knitting, being a mom, and working at what I think is the best yarn store out there, www.twistedpdx.com.
