Slip stitch versions of woven fabric put together with very flattering design details present a happy challenge for intermediate knitters. Slightly shortened sleeves add to the kimono look however you can extend Pattern 2 for wrist length sleeves if you prefer. Start at the cuff, knit up the sleeve and across the front. Make a second half and join the two pieces together at the back in three-needle bind-off. Six sizes and three lengths to choose from! Choose a multi color yarn then two solids that coordinate: one slightly darker and one slightly lighter than in the multi. Be sure to check out the back page Photo Gallery for stitch and gauge info and to see Pat. #304, a fabulous Scarf/Collar you can make with the leftovers. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY knit, purl, slip stitch experience helpful but not necessary GAUGE Each of the four slip stitch patterns used has its own gauge listed in the directions. I grew up in the middle of Iowa doing almost all crafts, but knitting and crochet have remained my real and abiding love and passions. I became a professional designer over twenty years ago, was Director of Design for Cascade yarns from 1993 to 1996 and started Knit One, Crochet Too, a wholesale yarn and pattern company in 1996. I literally wrote the book on crochet. Some have called Crochet Your Way "arguably the most comprehensive book on crochet ever published." It has remained a top seller for twelve years! I'm retired from going into an office now, which gives me time to design again and I love it.
