How it works

  • This pattern was designed by a Craftsy independent design partner!

Garter stitch ridges worked in Fibonacci stripes make an easy-to-wear, fun-to-knit poncho you can wear two ways: with the Vee at back and front of the neck as shown in the larger picture, or as a bateau neck as shown in the smaller picture. In fact, you can really wear it four ways because on the reverse side of the fabric the purl bumps show up as rows of neat little dots. Assembly is easy. The two panels are joined by sewing one end of each panel to half the side edge of the other. You don't even have to weave in the ends - just knot them into little tassels! Knitting with larger-than-usual needles for the yarn makes a soft fabric with a springy feel that drapes wonderfully. I grew up in the middle of Iowa doing almost all crafts, but knitting and crochet have remained my real and abiding love and passions. I became a professional designer over twenty years ago, was Director of Design for Cascade yarns from 1993 to 1996 and started Knit One, Crochet Too, a wholesale yarn and pattern company in 1996. I literally wrote the book on crochet. Some have called Crochet Your Way "arguably the most comprehensive book on crochet ever published." It has remained a top seller for twelve years! I'm retired from going into an office now, which gives me time to design again and I love it.
