For years I've adored the Spider cable pattern in Barbara Walker's 'Charted Knitting Designs' A Third Treasury of Knitting Patterns (the yellow one). As Hallowe'en approaches, a hat seemed like an excellent application for it. Sized for kids and adults; suitable for knitters with experience working in the round, and working cables from charts. Optional two-colour ribbing adds a bit of fun, and is a good way to use up leftovers - but it works just as well in a single colour. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Working in the round, working cables from a chart GAUGE 22 sts/28 rounds in rev st st in the round SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Kids' (Adult Small, Adult Large) - 18 (20, 22) inch circumference SUGGESTED YARN 240 yards of DK weight
