I love cables! I love them on sweaters and scarves and berets and gloves, but most of all I love them on socks! When I fell in love with a pattern that used slightly larger cables with a partridge stitch heel and then discovered that the pattern was no longer available anywhere and that the designer wasn't taking requests, I decided to write my own pattern with more compact cabling, plus a personal and unique touch to the heel. Since it seems rare that sock knitters knit two-at-a-time as I do, I've written this pattern with instructions for BOTH single-sock construction and two-at-a-time construction. This is a top-down, no fear pattern with written instructions and charts for legs and heels. If you love cabling as much as I do, you will love these socks! BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY knitting, purling, cabling, slipped stitches, pick up stitches GAUGE 8 stitches x 10 rounds = 1 inch in stocking stitch SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS large (9-10 inch leg circumference) medium (8-9 inch leg circumference) SUGGESTED YARN 394 yards of Fingering weight PREFERRED BRAND/YARN Cedar Hill Farm Company COLORWAY Green Apple
