Big, bold I-cord daisies on a bold, bright background are reminiscent of the flower power craze of the 70s, and make a fun dress or tank top for the summer. The recommended yarn is an easy-care cotton/acrylic blend for a wear-everyday-dress. Make the shorter length for a tank top to wear with shorts. This dress is worked in the round from the bottom up and divided at the armholes, so there are no seams to sew. Gauge is not critical for the skirt of the dress, but should be maintained when working the bodice of the dress Originally published in Knitcircus Magazine Issue #10, Summer 2010 BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY knitting in the round icord GAUGE On US 8 (5mm) needles, 18 sts and 25 rows = 4" , worked in St st On US 10 (6mm) needles, 16.5 sts and 23 rows = 4", worked in St st SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Sizes: 3m (6m, 12m, 24m, 4, 6, 8) Finished chest measurement: 18 (19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24) inches Length to hem approx: 15.5[17.5, 19, 21, 23.5, 26.75, 29.75] inches

I am a self taught designer, having spent many hours researching and reading about the skills needed to learn clothing design. Having had much experience sewing, gave me a lot of knowledge about how clothing is constructed, which is an essential skill in being able to design. Experience knitting, gave me the tools I needed to master knitting techniques and be able to shape the fabric in the way I want. Learning is an ongoing pastime, there are always new techniques to master. I design clothing for children up to about 10 years and also adults. I have been published in Universal Yarns, Willow Yarns, One Skein Wonders for Babies, as well as various online magazines and self published designs.
