PATTERN DETAILS

I had a few balls of yarn left over after making the Finchley Road Shawl and decided a warm, slouchy hat would be the perfect accompaniment. The result is a warm, stylish, and slightly retro beret that won't take long to make. The hat is knit in the round from the bottom up and takes 2 balls of Sheffield. The pattern is both written and charted, and of course I'm always available for support if you have questions about it. GAUGE Gauge: 26 sts x 28 rows = 4" (10 cm) on larger needles. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 21" (53.5cm) at brim (to fit average woman's head).

Supplies Needed

  • Yarn: Valley Yarns Sheffield (70% Merino/15% Silk/15% Angora); 50 gr/120 yds. 2 balls.
  • Needles: US #7 (4.5mm) dpns or size needed to achieve gauge; US #3 (3.25mm) dpns.
  • Notions: 1 st marker to mark beginning of rnd, 5 st markers in contrasting color, cable needle, tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
