PATTERN DETAILS

Some days you just need a feather boa. It's true. For me, those days occur in winter when blustery days and cold nights keep me indoors. My spirits can use the lift. Unfortunately the feather stitch is a little lacey and doesn't keep out the cold. Enter the sleeve scarf! The sleeve gives a nice thickness and adds to the boa aspect of this design. In a pinch it can double as a stocking hat. Ok, I confess this one doesn't stretch around my huge Irish head, but it would fit my petite daughter quite well. The subtle feather lace pattern gives this scarf a formality that travels to the opera, and a fun eye-catching movement that lifts a jean jacket BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY knitting GAUGE For scarves this really isn't an issue, but my gauge was 5 stitches per inch in stockinette. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Width when folded: 6 inches Length: 72 inches

Recommended with this pattern

  • 3 skeins worsted weight yarn
  • US 6 (4.0mm) circular needles
  • Stitch Markers (optional, but very helpful)

Started knitting when I was a child. Gave it up for child raising and work. Started again as a creative outlet that also provided my kids with warm, snuggly clothes. Now that the kids are growing and I am learning to deal with a disability, knitting is a great creative outlet! It gives me joy on a dreary day and is really excellent therapy for my hands.
