This scarf was inspired by one of the most famous houses designed by one of the most famous architects--Fallingwater by Frank Lloyd Wright. Like the house built partially over a waterfall, this scarf replicates the clean vertical lines of the house's cantilevered terraces, softened by fringe that represents the flowing water below. The architectural quality of the scarf is emphasized by a strongly angled stitch pattern that also looks like cantilevers and waterfalls. The pattern is a simple combination of knits and purls, and every other row is worked as presented, knitting the knits and purling the purls. A Texas Girl Knits
I'm a writer, reader, knitter, yoga instructor, and raw vegan living in the Texas Hill Country. I love designing items that are easier than they look, but I also enjoy the challenge and beauty of cables and stranded knitting. I personally knit every one of my designs, usually more than once, to make sure that my idea works. My years of experience as a technical writer help ensure that my pattern instructions are comprehensive and clear.
