Pairs of intertwined leaves decorate the cuff of the Falling Leaves Sock and contrast nicely with the twisted rib pattern on the leg, heel and instep. Simple design details create a harmonious look and the rib pattern ensures a good fit. The socks work up quickly and are fun to knit! This is not a beginner pattern, but is easily completed by an intermediate beginner with sock experience or a more advanced knitter with no sock experience. Pattern assumes you can work with a cable needle, knit in the round on double pointed needles, follow a chart for the 20 rows of the leaf pattern, pick up stitches along heel flap, weave toe stitches together or do a 3-needle bind off. Any sock yarn that knits to the recommended gauge will work for this project. If you tend to run short on yarn when making socks, please allow 375 yards. GAUGE 30 stitches/48 rows per 4" SUGGESTED YARN 350 yards of Fingering weight

Supplies Needed

  • 1 set of 5 US #1/2.25 mm double pointed needles
  • Tapestry needle
  • Stitch marker
