Pattern Details

A beautiful baby blanket in an easy basket weave pattern called entrelac. The blanket is knit in one piece so there is no fiddly sewing together of little patches. Entrelac is very easy to do and looks so impressive! The pattern is easy to follow with photos to guide you at every stage. You are only ever working on 10 stitches at one time, so it never gets too monotonous or feels too daunting - great to knit whilst watching the TV. The blanket is knit using four colours, but you could also use just two, or even one, if you wish. It can easily be adapted to any size you wish. (I explain how in the pattern) The yarn used is double knit/light worsted/8 ply, but yarn weight and tension are not crucial to the pattern. I have worked for several years writing project instructions for UK craft magazines, including knitting patterns. Once you know this technique you will be able to make scarves, cowls, and pillows without needing a pattern Some recent feedback: "What an absolutely beautiful, workable pattern. So clear and easy to understand. If you want to learn entrelac, then this is the pattern to get.....last night I began my grandson's blanket and I am beyond thrilled. ...I could just hug you." I've crafted all my life. I learned to knit and sew at about the age of 4 and haven't looked back. I made my own wedding dress, and I spent many happy years as a designer/tutor for UK papercraft companies and I have written magazine projects for papercraft. knitting and sewing. Now happily retired, I spend most of my time crafting! :) Instagram - @LoveFibres
