This knits up in a jiffy to produce a cozy, thick shrug to keep the winter chills from your shoulders. I did this over the weekend - hence the name - although the actual concept, measuring, guage, trial and errors of designing and write up took much longer! :-) Looks great with casual jeans over a tank top / cami as shown, but would also look well in a more sophisticated yarn to dress it up a little with a dress. Or how about in a pastel shade with fur effect yarn to make the collar for a wedding? Make a great gift for teens upwards. All my sales of this and other pattens here on craftsy will be donated to the Colorado flood victims and in particular to the town of Lyons, my former hometown which was completely devastated and where many of my friends are now homeless and without warm clothes on their backs. A creative Brit living in Colorado, I've been knitting since 7 years old. My big hobbies are landscape and skyscape photography, acrylic and oil painting. My latest knitting designs are "Western Fiberscapes" where I take my design influence from the photographs I take and other's I admire and turn them into fiberscapes. Knitting, is very therapeutic to me, it slows me down and centers me. I started creating my own patterns in 2011, just, well because and was amazed they sold on etsy. It was just a fun little hobby that earned me some holiday and yarn money that year. But, I got hooked (no pun intended!) and really love the creative process, combining stitches for textures along with combined with the math calulation. Sometimes I find an interesting stitch technique and fabric and imagine a design in it. Sometimes it takes many weeks and trial and errors to work something out. I can't tell you how many times I start, get 1/2 way and then pull it out and start again! As of fall 2015, I'm becoming more focused on the artistic side of knitting. I've been studying mosaic knitting, which I love and playing with blending color - as with Canyonlands. "Navaho Sunsets" has a mix of mosaic and blending colors, while "Eagle Mountain" was inspired by the bald eagles soaring on the thermals above the mountain and canyon behind my house in the foothills of Colorado and Native American art and symbols.. I'm always willing to help my customers with any questions and welcome feedback to improve or add patterns that customers suggest. Happy knitting! Karen
