Pattern Details

This is a quick project that you can start on Friday and wear on Monday. There are no fancy stitches, just knits and purls; the main stitch used creates a beautiful fabric on both sides, so the cowl can be worn either way. If you are a beginner, and comfortable with working in the round, you can make this cowl. Even if you have never worked in the round, I encourage you to give it a try and see how easy it is. You can use any yarn and needles you like, and easily adjust the sizing of the cowl. For a larger circumference, cast on more stitches in a multiple of four; for a taller cowl, just continue working in the Garter Rib Stitch pattern until the cowl is roughly half an inch shorter than desired finished size, then work the four rounds of k2, p2 ribbing and bind off. To purchase the yarn used in this pattern: BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Knit in the round Make the knit stitch Make the purl stitch Cast on/Bind off Weave in loose ends Block finished item Knit a gauge swatch and measure in pattern GAUGE 19 stitches over 4 inches in Garter Rib Stitch Pattern. After seeing a woman knit on the bus, I decided that I wanted to learn to knit also. So I did, and now I have my own knitting blogs, how-to videos - all about knitting!
